Sabado Coffee Club 11

Sabado Coffee Club took a little break during Ramadan, but as the heat of summer begins to cool down, the kettles of Sabado Coffee Club begin to heat up again. Our last meetup took place at a little community focused venue called Mellow Yellow Café which can be found in an area of Dubai called Mirdiff. Sabado Coffee Club is held on the first Saturday of the month and is hosted by a different café space each time. Sabado Coffee Club presents fascinating coffees by interesting roasters which are brewed to taste. We then collect the votes to find the favourite and we make a filter brew of the winner for all to enjoy. Simple. This month, there were a number of new attendees, including a visit from a roaster who brought his coffees in from Jordan especially for Sabado. But after a lot of sipping and slurping of caffeine – we decided on a winner – the winning coffee was an Ethiopian Guiji roasted by Reuben Hills. Here is what Reuben Hills say about their coffee; …

Held on the first Saturday of the month Sabado Coffee Club plays host to a selection of fantastically dazzling coffees flown in by speciality roasters from around the world… Some famous roasters, some new kids on the block and occasionally some Middle Eastern ones too. We taste the coffees, vote for the favourite and then brew the winning coffee for all to enjoy!   The Next Sabado Coffee Club will be held at the brand new cafe, Creekside. Creekside is Dubai’s newest contemporary cultural space and cafe. Its focus lies primarily on architecture, art, culture, design and heritage. Located in the heart of old Dubai, Creekside is a place of artistic expression, debate and knowledge exchange. Whether someone is to attend a workshop, or simply indulge in a cup of aromatic coffee.   So come down by boat, by car or alternatively, you may also use public transport. Sabado; Reasons to be cheerful, part 3

Ramadan has drawn to a close and the dust has settled on Eid celebrations yet there are still a few things to be cheerful of… Like Sabado! Coffee Club.  A social coffee event, held at various interesting locations in and around Dubai. The first Saturday of August saw the third Sabado Coffee Club, held at Spill the Bean in Jumeirah.   Some old and new faces came down… And one or two silly faces!  The coffees this month were a real mixed bunch – some from roasters in Japan, some from Italy, some from Seattle etc etc etc etc etc!! In fact here are the top coffees tasted (from 7th to 1st)… As always, Sabado Coffee Club was a really relaxed afternoon of hanging out munching on some tasty all day breakfasts afterwards at Spill the Bean. The next Sabado Coffee Club will be on 6th September, 12 noon at a brand new cafe on the waterside of the creek of Dubai. Aptly named Creekside. We will be featuring some roasters from UK, USA, Sweden, Hong Kong amongst …
