Click That Dial. FNND’s Internet Radio Selection II

Thanks to Mark at Rushour Records, we’ve got some more stations to add to the list:

NTS, London – At 9am on the morning of Monday the 4th of April ’13 NTS streamed live for the first official time…  Born from the blog, NTS aims to fill a void in the community of musically minded progressive thinking people in London.  An idea bigger than just another online community radio station – NTS is a unique platform for inspired people to present their findings, passions and obsessions.

East Village Radio – Located in the heart of New York City’s famed East Village, carries the neighbourhood’s tradition of producing and nurturing vital music and culture.’s original programming streams live from a storefront studio, providing a tangible look into the legendary history of downtown NYC for worldwide listeners. streams two-hour live shows covering all genres of music, talk, variety and comedy including in-studio interviews and performances conducted by an eclectic group of presenters, producers, tastemakers and personalities. produces and co-produces many special programmes and exclusively streams from concerts, festivals and events around the world as well as hosting first-listen album and track premiere features on their homepage.

Newtown Radio – a Brooklyn-based internet radio station dedicated to sharing music that the neighborhoods around Newtown Creek — Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bushwick, Long Island City, Ridgewood — create. Check out DJ Speculator.

And thanks to Tim Kerton who brings us this great poetry show on Reel Rebels Radio:

The Broken Verb: A half hour spoken word show which intends to push forward the boundaries of performance poetry. Presented by Tim Kerton, upcoming and established poets are encouraged to send in their words on a given theme every month to be read. Guest poets are invited to read their own work and have a chance to talk about their inspirations and what drives their poetry. The Broken Verb is part of the Acrylic Mink Radio Stars and goes out on the second Tuesday of every month at 8pm.

Red Light Radio from Holland – broadcasting from a former prostitution window in the red light district of Amsterdam. Red Light Radio brings you daily shows of local DJ’s, live performances and cool personalities doing a one time only radio show. You can expect shows full of afro beat or shows with black metal next to live acoustic performances or DJ sets by artists who’re in town.

BBC Radio 6 – in particular Jarvis Cockers Sunday Service and Gilles Peterson. The BBC tried to close Radio 6 down, but after a listeners campaign it has now been around for over 10 years. There was a sense that the threat of closure was the best thing that happened to 6 Music because it raised more awareness of its existence among the public, who now like what they hear and stick around.

Boiler Room – live from a secret location every Tuesday night. The Boiler Room is a site that takes DJs from the bleeding edge of the UK underground and puts them on an invite only secret location broadcast to thousands watching at home online. Now also in Berlin, L.A. and New York.

Art on Air  – a free and searchable online cultural audio archive. Its 5,000 hours of diverse, indexed content – an unduplicated collection in any media – consist of non-commercial music, audio art, spoken word, cultural news, history and dialogue, and new media innovation. ARTonAIR’s mission is to excel as a globally accessible and technically innovative deliverer of content, through a traditional radio-style stream of hosted shows in a curated schedule and a searchable on-demand archive.

Resonance – Imagine a radio station like no other. A radio station that makes public those artworks that have no place in traditional broadcasting. A radio station that is an archive of the new, the undiscovered, the forgotten, the impossible. That is an invisible gallery, a virtual arts centre whose location is at once local, global and timeless. And that is itself a work of art. Imagine a radio station that responds rapidly to new initiatives, has time to draw breath and reflect. A laboratory for experimentation, that by virtue of its uniqueness brings into being a new audience of listeners and creators. Resonance104.4fm is the world’s first radio art station, established by London Musicians’ Collective. It started broadcasting on May 1st 2002.
