Coffee continues to provide everlasting fascination, as a subject it has more plots and twists than an HBO box set, so to encourage open exploration of coffee is ‘Sabado Coffee Club’, a Dubai based social club/coffee club that encourages socialising over a good cup of coffee.
Sabado Coffee Club is held on the first saturday of the month and hosted by a different cafe space each time. Sabado Coffee Club presents fascinating coffees by interesting roasters from all over the world which are brewed to taste. We then collect the votes to find the favourite and we make a filter brew of the winner for all to enjoy. Simple.
The fifth Sabado Coffee Club Meeting Took place at A4 Space located within Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. A4 Space is dedicated to giving space to creatives of Dubai. They have a screening room, a small retail space for local artisans and designers and an Appetite Cafe which all go to make a community-led space… A great reflection of Sabado Coffee Club.
We had a varied selection of roasters from London, amsterdam, USA, Bristol, Italy and more. We all tasted the coffees and voted on our favourites. the clear winner was a kenyan Kigwandi coffee roasted by Sweetcup Amsterdam which is one of the best coffees we’ve tasted this year… cheers Sweetcup!! so here are the Sabado club’s top nine…
The next Sabado Coffee Club will take place on saturday, 6th December at The Magazine Shop in DIFC. Sabado Coffee Club is very informal and relaxed – It starts at 12 noon and lasts as long as people wish to be there. You don’t need to have any specialist knowledge and each month we will give a quick class on cupping (tasting) coffee.
